They just seem too big and cumbersome. It&#8217;s hard to go unnoticed with them and as soon as you go outside, you become an easy target for thieves.<\/p>\n<p>So for a while now, I&#8217;ve been a fan of the <b>semi-professional digital cameras<\/b>. These combine the portability of the cheap digital cameras with some of the features of the professional ones.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B005MTME3U\/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=text-media-20&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957&amp;creativeASIN=B005MTME3U\">The PowerShot S100<\/a>\u00a0is a powerful and sophisticated yet portable digital camera. It has a fully manual mode, for when you need to set the aperture and exposure yourself and a new processor for white balancing. It also captures videos in full HD and has an ISO sensitivity of 6400 (ideal for nighttime pictures).<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B005MTME3U\/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=text-media-20&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957&amp;creativeASIN=B005MTME3U\" target=\"_blank\">PowerShot S100<\/a>&#8216;s 7.5 x 5.5 mm sensor is gigantic for such a small camera and it allows you to capture 12-megapixel images in RAW or JPEG format, as no other camera of that size can.<\/p>\n<p><b>The good<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Incredibly small for its power<\/li>\n<li>HD video (1920x 1080)<\/li>\n<li>GPS to geo locate your pictures<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>The bad<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It&#8217;s not a phone<\/li>\n<li>It&#8217;s not manufactured to have interchangeable lenses (although I used to have a S95 and it had a lenses and filters adaptor. There should be one for the S100)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It&#8217;s a bit expensive for a portable camera. But the way I see it: my mobile phone is my everyday camera and this is the one I take on trips, or when I want to go out and take pictures, without someone robbing my camera.
